Hello from the Olympic City

Tripawds is a user-supported community. Thank you for your support!

Hi everyone, I haven’t had time to post for the last liitle while as I have been glued to the TV. Congratulations first of all to the US athletes you are doing amazing! Me well I have been struggling for the past couple of days. I didn’t get sick from the chemo but yesterday my Mom noticed that my front paw was bleeding and on a closer look it appears that one of my nails has split. That must be what is so sore! So for the past two days I haven’t been to active. I have been spending a lot of time on my Dad’s knee watching TV or sleeping on my bed. I go back to see the oncologist on the 25th so have all paws crossed that things have slowed down somewhat for me. I am hoping that I feel better tomorrow as we are having the warmest weather in 100 years so I would like to be able to get out and play some more street hockey with the kids down the street. That is before the big Olympic hockey game in the afternoon!

Hang-in-there Tehya. Dad is only now describing how bad my diagnosis was at the time of my amputation, but you know how wonderful my life was afterward. You can do it too! See Dad’s posting in the forums.

Hi Tehya! Congratulations on the gold medals for Canada! I’m keeping my paws crossed (and mom has her fingers and toes crossed) for you and your visit with the oncologist on the 25th. I’ve been a little under the weather lately – the last chemo made me not want to eat much. But now I’m feeling chipper again! So I hope your foot feels better soon, and hope you can get out and enjoy that wonderful weather we’re seeing on tv!
    Hugs and doggie kisses,

We are so happy to hear that you didn’t get sick from the chemo. Hope your toe gets better so you can enjoy this warm weather with your friends. Sounds like you have a pretty good spot though with your Dad watching TV and the Olympics! Did you watch the hockey game last night – hope you and your Dad weren’t too disappointed – I like to think that it’s all in the family between the borders 🙂 xoxo Mackenzie’s Mom

Hey Mackenzie is your Mom home already? I am feeling much better today I think my toe is on the mend! Oh my gosh not just my Dad my Mom was yelling at the TV! She did say though that US deserved the win as the goalie was amazing. I think I am going to teach our goalie some tricks before the next game!
Definitely all in the family we have family in Denver and banter back and forth all the time about hockey !

Talk to you on Thursday after my next appointment!

    Tehya~
Glad to hear you are on the mend! Like you need anything else to worry about besides that yucky cancer. Sometimes life just can’t give us a break! We are keeping our paws crossed for you!

Hope you get to enjoy some more hockey! Maybe you could be an Olympic star!! Glad your weather is warm I can’t wait for warm weather. We live in Colorado and just got pounded with more snow. I am sick of the cold weather.

P.S. So glad to hear your toe is on the mend. Your mom and dad were really yelling at the TV??? How funny that must have been. You definitely need to teach your goalie a few tricks…..:).
